LEGALIZE MARIJUANA
The prohibition on Marijuana has ruined countless lives and careers, and is steeped in a racist and classist history.
While few facts have true scientific consensus, the trial runs in Washington, Oregon, and California have proven that decriminalization of Marijuana does not lead to increased overdose rates, and in fact in many cases results in decreased use of other, more harmful substances.
Additionally, there are numerous doctors, researchers, and other medical professionals who can attest that the positive effects of targeted cannabis use in a variety of circumstances provide benefits incredibly difficult to replicate or find through other means.
Lastly, it is ridiculous that many individuals, primarily black men, are spending life in prison for a nonviolent offense such as marijuana possession.
The prohibition must end and Cannabis use must be regulated from a scientific standpoint, rather than an emotional one.

Why should I subscribe and not just support my party or give to a nonprofit?
In short? Control. When you give to any other organization you give up control over where your money goes and what you actually contribute to. And let’s be honest, politicians only keep their promises sometimes. With Pillars, you support individual issues and vote along with people who believe in the same things on how to make it happen.
What happens if we don’t reach $5,000/month?
You can cancel or continue your subscription, and you and the other subscribers democratically decide what happens with the funds already gathered – whether that be a short-term lobbying effort, public awareness campaign, political donations, or whatever else you corporately decide!
Which lobbyist will we hire?
It’s up to you! (within reason). Once we reach a minimum monthly fund threshold, Pillars will compile a list of lobbyists within this particular niche, then filter that list down based on affiliation (which side of the issue they’re on) and cost, then bring the choices to the community of subscribers to decide.
What if you can’t find a lobbyist?
That’s highly unlikely. But in that event, there are typically three options available which you and the rest of the cause community will vote on: 1) contribute the funds to a nonprofit in the space, aiming for an agreement that they will only use those funds for this specific issue; 2) fund a public awareness campaign, or; 3) we will register and train Pillars employees on these specific issues, then go and lobby ourselves (but only with the express permission of the community)
What if we’re not successful?
So long as you’re committed, we’ll keep trying! Politics is (sometimes) a slow process – but progress is worth fighting for.
